Ask any Latter-day Saint, and they’ll tell you that CTR stands for Choose the Right.  Even a 5 year old child knows that.  The children attend a CTR class on Sundays and may be wearing a CTR ring to remember “Choose the Right”. But CTR can have other meanings.  The list is too long to include here, but one alternative has gained favor: Current Temple Recommend.  Adult members in good standing receive a temple recommend to enter the temple. It is unclear who first thought of CTR standing for Current Temple Recommend; but several Church leaders have used it in...
In September 2000, an important milestone was reached in the international growth of the Church.  In this month, the number of non-English speaking members exceeded the number of English speakers. English is still the most spoken language in the Church, being used by 39.7% of all members.  Spanish is only marginally behind at 31.1%, and is expected to overtake English within the next 5 to 10 years. Being a world church, materials are needed in many languages.  The Book of Mormon is currently available in 110 languages (complete and partial translations).  Teaching materials, handbooks and other Church supplies are all...
Of course!  But make sure you choose the right CTR ring. Giving jewelry is a very personal gift.  Firstly, it should match the age and personality of the recipient.  Some CTR rings are better suited for children, or aren’t made to last long term. What is ARH?

Most Latter-day Saints are familiar with the CTR ring.  ARH stands for “Always Remember Him”, a key phrase in the sacramental prayers. Each Sunday, we renew the covenants made at baptism.  The ARH design includes the infinity symbol, reflecting the eternal nature of God’s promises. While the sacrament occurs once a week, ARH jewelry is a constant reminder of our commitments.   Worn as a wedding band or love token, the letters can also refer to the marriage vows – always remember him or her.
